My father took an ambien last night. Rather than sitting upright and smoking, as he usually does regardless of whether he's taken a sedative, he removed his glasses, turned out his light, and tucked his sheets around him up to the neck. To hold him in place.

Why? Because he had heard ambien makes people behave strangely. You know, drive, eat electric cords, etc.

He assumed he might "kill someone."
